I am interested in purchasing a wick cutter. I cut our wicks to short . What should I do? Should I dig in the wax surrounding it to light the wick or is there another way?

What are you supposed to trim the wicks with on the 26 oz. jars? I cannot reach the wick when it is at the last 2 inches in the jar. I normally use a large fingernail clipper on the smaller jars with no problem. I have tried using a scissors but some times the wick breaks off, instead of being cut where I want it to be in length. Thank you.
